Overview
Hypertension is a disease defined by a systolic reading of 140+mm Hg and/or a diastolic reading of 90+ mmHg. Elevated blood pressure puts an individual at risk for heart attack, stroke or both. Mildly elevated blood pressure over time can lead to a kidney disease and a generalized vascular disease.
If you have a high blood pressure (>=140 />=90), you must get a clearance from your physician before starting the exercise. Once you have controlled your hypertension and got the Doctor’s clearance you can begin the exercise. Below are some general recommendations. We advise you to do them in the presence of a certified personal trainer.
